| Abstract: | The article cites a study regarding the nonpsychotic personality disturbances revelation by the famous psychoanalyst Frederick Thorne. In his 1964 monograph, "Diagnostic Classification and Nomenclature for Psychological States, Thorne offered among other things, a radically new phenomenological taxonomy of borderline psychopathological conditions. His sharp eye for the multiplicity of human aberrations and his refusal to be hamstrung by the restrictive fictions of psychiatric nosology, together with his appreciation of everyday commonsense observation, added greatly to the pertinence, charm, and originality of this monograph. |
