| Abstract: | The article discusses the need for better regulation of alcohol marketing in films in Australia due to the increasing popularity of streaming services and the prevalence of alcohol imagery in movies. It highlights the ineffectiveness of the current self-regulatory scheme, the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code (ABAC), in protecting viewers, especially minors, from alcohol brands and marketing in films. The article suggests that Australia should consider adopting a model similar to the legislation controlling tobacco marketing to limit branded alcohol content in films and close the loopholes in the current regulatory system.
