Abstract: This study aimed to identify longitudinal changes in creative personality in adolescents using data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018, and to determine the effects of six parenting styles (warmth, autonomy support, structure, rejection, chaos, and coercion). Creative personality was divided into positive and negative aspects based on social evaluation, and the trajectories of change from the first to the third year of middle school were analyzed. Both the positive and negative aspects of creative personality tended to decrease during middle school years, with a greater decrease in the positive aspect. Parental warmth and structure predicted the positive and negative slopes of creative personality. However, parental structure had no significant effect on the slope of positive aspects of adolescents' creative personality. Parental autonomy support predicted a positive slope for creative personality. The effects of parental rejection, coercion, and chaos were not identified. Home environments that provide warmth and structure were found to positively affect the development of adolescents' creativity personality. Based on these findings, this study proposes parenting styles mitigating the decline in creativity in adolescence and strategies for creativity education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
