Abstract: The article offers information about the impact of the development of the civic agency of students on the society in the U.S. According to John Saltmarsh, director of the New England Resource Center for Higher Education, civic-engagement efforts have leveled out and require a more comprehensive effort to ensure lasting institutional commitment and capacity. In addition, the development of civic agency of students need new skills and a much more robust definition of democracy, citizenship, as well as politics.
