Abstract: In this article the authors discuss the findings of S. Luo and colleagues on the qualities of Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) to regulate age-related oocyte decline through signal-transduction pathways. The authors say the finding for such senescence mechanisms provides clinical relevance as oocyte qualities in both women and C. elegans similarly affected by age. They note that the translation of the mechanism into human is challenging as human reproductive system is more complex.
