Abstract (English): The presence of ceramic artifacts showing evidence of recycling has been widely documented at sites in the Maya Area. The identification of their forms and the interpretation of possible functions allow us to understand the systems of reuse, manufacture, use and discard of these artifacts. The purpose of this article revolves around the morphological classification of ceramic artifacts located in Group IV of Palenque, which show signs of secondary modification, as well as the technical construction of certain attributes visible in these types of elements. The technological analysis applied to these ceramic artifacts reveals information about some possible manufacturing techniques, providing a more complete picture of material culture and sustainability in the past. Abstract (Spanish): La presencia de artefactos cerámicos con evidencia de reciclaje ha sido ampliamente documentada en sitios del Área Maya. La identificación de sus formas y la interpretación de posibles funcionalidades nos permiten entender los sistemas de reaprovechamiento, manufactura, uso y descarte de éstos. El propósito de este articulo gira en torno a la clasificación morfológica de artefactos cerámicos localizados en el Grupo IV de Palenque, los cuales presentan indicios de modificación secundaria, así como a la construcción técnica de ciertos atributos visibles en este tipo de elementos. El análisis tecnológico aplicado a tales artefactos nos revela información sobre algunas posibles técnicas de fabricación, lo que proporciona una visión más completa sobre la cultura material y la sostenibilidad en el pasado.
