| Abstract (English): | The article focuses on the Economy of Francesco (EOF) movement, a global initiative launched by Pope Francis in 2019 that brings together young economists, entrepreneurs, and agents of change to rethink the economy with a focus on human dignity, social justice, ecological care, and universal fraternity, inspired by the figure of Saint Francis of Assisi. EOF began as an informal and dynamic network that promotes intergenerational and interdisciplinary dialogue, and in 2024 took a step toward institutionalization with the creation of the Economy of Francesco Foundation in Italy to support and coordinate its projects and local and international communities. In 2025, the movement held a global meeting in Castel Gandolfo with the participation of hundreds of young people from various countries, reaffirming its commitment to a more just and sustainable economy. The 2026 commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the passing of Saint Francis of Assisi provides a spiritual and symbolic context to strengthen this open process of economic and social transformation. | Abstract (Spanish): | El artículo se centra en el movimiento Economía de Francisco (EOF), una iniciativa global impulsada por el Papa Francisco desde 2019 que convoca a jóvenes economistas, empresarios y agentes de cambio a repensar la economía con un enfoque centrado en la dignidad humana, la justicia social, el cuidado ecológico y la fraternidad universal, inspirándose en la figura de san Francisco de Asís. EOF comenzó como una red informal y dinámica que promueve el diálogo intergeneracional e interdisciplinario, y en 2024 dio un paso hacia la institucionalización con la creación de la Fundación Economía de Francisco en Italia para sostener y coordinar sus proyectos y comunidades locales e internacionales. En 2025, el movimiento celebró un encuentro global en Castel Gandolfo con la participación de cientos de jóvenes de diversos países, reafirmando su compromiso con una economía más justa y sostenible. La conmemoración en 2026 del 800° aniversario del tránsito de san Francisco de Asís ofrece un contexto espiritual y simbólico para fortalecer este proceso abierto de transformación económica y social.
