| Abstract (English): | The article analyzes the creation and management of the Journal of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) during the period 1976-1986, under the direction of Raúl Prebisch and Adolfo Gurrieri. This publication emerged as a response to the institutional crisis of ECLAC in the 1970s and functioned as a space of editorial freedom for the ECLAC "old guard," allowing the revitalization of Latin American structuralism in the face of the shift towards liberalization and austerity policies. The Journal disseminated critiques of exclusionary development models and promoted comprehensive approaches that included social, political, and environmental dimensions, as well as serving as a platform for debate between structuralists and monetarists. During this period, the Journal consolidated its academic and editorial identity, contributing to maintaining ECLAC's intellectual leadership in a complex political and economic context, until Prebisch's death in 1986. | Abstract (Spanish): | Este artículo sostiene que la Revista de la CEPAL, más que reivindicar un espacio para Raúl Prebisch, fue una respuesta a la crisis institucional que atravesaba la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) en los años setenta. A partir de fuentes archivísticas, se reconstruye el proceso fundacional de la Revista, iniciado dos años antes de su publicación, y se examina la dinámica editorial durante la gestión de Prebisch y Gurrieri (1976-1986). Se argumenta que funcionó como refugio para la vieja guardia cepalina, en un contexto de mutaciones institucionales marcado por el giro de la Comisión hacia una agenda más receptiva a los postulados de la liberalización y las políticas de austeridad. En este espacio, los cepalinos encontraron libertad editorial para tejer críticas a los modelos de desarrollo excluyentes promovidos por regímenes autoritarios e impulsaron nuevas ideas fuerza para revitalizar el estructuralismo latinoamericano desde una perspectiva de desarrollo integral.
