At this Symposium the stronger criticisms were strikingly due to the hypothetic-deductive method used by Wegener versus inductive empiricism of the Northamerican geologists, and, likewise, on the unlikely causes quoted to account for the continental drift, contributing to a great extent to the refuse of the movilist theory. On the other hand, both the study and didactic use of original papers provides useful arguments to understand the form as the science progresses. In this respect, the continental drift is framed more in the concept of transformation of scientific ideas than in a mere accumulation of deeds only. |
