| Summary: | This paper analyses the principal characteristics of mineral waters studies in New Spain during the XVII and XVIII centuries. It aim to know the theories and practices used in this field, especially in the chemical and therapeutic aspects.
The results of this research allows to see that this development had an evolutionary process in the theories, methods and applied practices. In fact, the scientific exchanges released in New Spain allowed the European advantages to be incorporated and assimilated as part of the local knowledge. Consequently, the new knowledgements were used to find the resolution of the specifics problems of the New Spain reality involved with their important social ambit. |
