key family member to the patient at the moment of his or her admission are the best isolated predictor
of a future symptomatic relapse in the next 9 mounths after the patient is discharged from hospital.
Again as in the British results, the association between the relative�s expressed emotion and the
patients� relapse was independent from all the other studied variables. Transcultural results on
preventive effects of medication suggest that doctors should consider the emotional atmosphere at
home wen it comes to explain the failures of medication. |
