Summary:This article presents an investigation that consisted of implementing a strategy with grade 4 students from the La Magdalena Departmental Educational Institution, located in Quebradanegra, Cundinamarca. It arises from the seminars of the emphasis on teaching for the development of scientific and technological thinking of the Master in Pedagogy of the University of La Sabana, where a consecutive process of two years of execution of didactic strategies for the teaching of social sciences was developed. Said strategies are based on the Teaching for Understanding (EpC) framework, in response to the research proposal called “Implementation of the Active Pedagogical Model in the practices of IED La Magdalena Teachers who are studying a master's degree in pedagogy through the EpC ”. Thinking routines are incorporated into the learning processes developed.
