description This article is an approximation to what would be an archival prospective exercise, in order to analyze the adaptation of archives to two changes of a social and technological nature: The Information Society and the Technological Revolution. A qualitative-descriptive study was carried out, based on literature review. In the first section, some hypotheses regarding the adaptation of archives to the two chosen changes are stated. In the second section, a diagnosis of the archival reality is made: if we want to foresee the future, it is necessary to know the present. In the third section, an outline of social prospective is presented, based on the analysis of the information society. Finally, some concluding remarks are set out.
