description This article presents the results of the study of psychosocial factors associated with the consumption of psychoactive substances in young people from a private university in the city of Barranquilla, which was carried out from the empirical-analytical paradigm, with a sample of 97 students of the fifth semester of the Psychology program to whom the FACE III scale was applied for the assessment of family cohesion and adaptability and the ASSIST test to know the prevalence of consumption of psychoactive substances. It was found that young people consume alcohol, tobacco and cannabis, and that within their families an unrelated cohesion is reflected, with a family adaptability of chaotic type. Keywords: psychosocial factors, consumption of psychoactive substances, young people, FACE III y ASSIST.
