| Summary: | This article presents the general results of an investigation about the attitudes and conceptions about science in a sample of 1087 students from fifth degree at primary school and eleventh degree of high school diploma from nine public schools in Bogotá, done through the application of an instrument consisting of five questions of multiple choice and structured composition of a scientific piece of news where the children and young participants use their knowledge and imagination to express their ideas regarding scientific work and the social importance of science. The obtained results indicate that most of the students consider that science has a highly relevant role both in their everyday lives as in society in general, but at the same time they indicate a decrease on the interest about the topics related with science along their school formation. It is expected that the obtained percentages from this investigative exercise contribute to reflection and discussion on possible alternatives for science school formation improvement and for thinking fostering and the scientific vocation in students from public educational institutions in the city. |
