Summary:The objective of this research was to carry out an analysis about Mental Health, taking mental hygiene as a starting point, following its evolution both in the international and national order, and then addressing the context of higher education teachers. Thus, a documentary, descriptive and analytical study was developed based on the tool "analytical descriptive card" for the exploration of the publications consulted. On the other hand, among the preponderant actions in the promotion of mental health of teachers in higher education, it is evident the relevance of generating interventions at primary, secondary and tertiary level, with an emphasis on the design of programs where personality characteristics, environment attitudes and environmental conditions are involved. Likewise, lines of approach were incorporated for future investigations and their incidence in diverse constructs.
