description This paper presents the design of the control strategy for the reduction of ppm of hydrogen sulfide, present in crude biogas, extracted from biodigesters, thus improving the biogas conditions to be used in electricity generation. Given the lack of access to the plant, the availability of data on the operation of the filtration tower is used, and using artificial neural networks a model of the process is obtained. A PID control loop is built with this model, in Simulink, to determine the setting parameters of the controller that allow obtaining the adequate performance of the process. To develop the control program in a programmable controller, the Siemens TIA Portal application is used, implementing the control strategy in an S7-1500 series PLC. Through data exchange between the TIA Portal application and Simulink. Through an OPC application, the behavior of the process is determined according to the established design conditions. A human machine interface, HMI, is designed from which the operator can view the status of the process or modify some conditions of its operation.
