description Soil is an important reservoir of biodiversity which supports various functions for the provision of edaphic ecosystem services. The diversity of the edaphic biota remains largely unknown, the goal of this work is to approach current studies about the role of the edaphic biota in the maintenance of agroecosystems and ecosystem services. Due to the above, information was gathered on (I) soil biodiversity (II) relationship of the edaphic functional groups for anthropic resilience processes (III) impact of land use and agricultural management on soil biota and (IV) the potential of soil biota on the productivity of agroecosystems. Significant interactions were identified between different biological groups participating in each of the functional groups consulted. Likewise, it was identified that anthropogenic activities on soil biodiversity affect the biological behavior of the soil. It is therefore important to implement management practices that can optimize the productivity of agroecosystems.
