Summary:Worldwide fish farming systems face challenges due to high cost of land. In addition, it needs large land areas for construction of traditional systems, increased costs of concentrate fish food, limited access to updated technology, low productivity, low reliably information, and low competitiveness, among others; those have been a risk to take advantage for great market opportunities as a result of economic globalization. In response to this situation, this project sought to incorporate Red Tilapia cultivative (Oreochromis mossambicus spp) technologies such as circular fish pond production with geomembrane, automated artificial ventilation, and use of high-tech software for CAD modeling the whole system, as a strategy to facilitate monitoring, tracking, management and event simulation related to production processes, contributing thus with modernization and competitiveness of fish farming sector and vocational training in department of Santander.
