description The department of Vichada has been linked to the promotion and use of products extractedfrom Apis mellifera hives since 2016. In 2020, there was a fatality caused by the bite of ablack widow spider (Latrodectus curacaviensis), which was staying in a hive, in which thehoney had been harvested and they were preparing to clean it for reuse, This eventinterested the health sector and other producers in the municipality, for which it wasproposed to determine the impact generated by the infestation and possible colonization ofpests (Arthropods: Insects and Arachnids), in the production of honey from Apis melliferahives in the reforester CANAPRO Environmental Project and the Apiarios La CristalinaS.A.S, in the municipality of Puerto Carreño; For this, four apiaries were inspected for eachentity, during the dry period (April), the beginning of the rains (May) and the rainy period(August), observing a total of 574 hives: CANAPRO (293) and La Cristalina (281),determining structurally, that the CANAPRO hives showed greater deterioration with basesmainly of rods, contrary to La Cristalina, however, this one presented bases of plasticbaskets with a lot of vegetation; the pests or enemies of the bees denoted very varieddominance by period, in April the termites (CNAPRO: 31%, La Cristalina: 60%) and the waxmoth (34 and 30% respectively) dominated, during May, the ants (36 and 41%), and inAugust the wax moth again (51 and 79%). It should be noted that in CANAPRO, during themonth of May, the presence of all the identified groups (8 out of 8) was observed. It issuggested to carry out phenological studies with a greater number of hives in order toaccurately determine possible patterns in the species and their impact on productionprocesses.
