| Summary: | Environmental concern on a global scale has driven the trend of the “green movement” to act against factors such as global warming, water pollution, air pollution and habitat loss (Buraglia et al., 2011). For this study, a specific focus is made on vertical gardening systems applied to outdoor public space as an alternative to improve and increase green areas that can beadapted to local conditions. The objective of this research is to propose a vertical garden model with ornamental vegetation for outdoor spaces at the SENA METALMECÁNICA MALAMBO headquarters. The use of vertical gardens is perceived as a decorative and luxurious element in large facades of the main cities of the world, but beyond a luxury it offers important benefits to communities and the environment. This project seeks to propose a bioclimatic strategy that can be widely replicated, by taking advantage of the use of vegetation in public spaces, contemplating the sustainability aspects of easy construction, conservation, low cost, adaptable to the climate and endemic plants of the place. This research work allows to know the importance of green spaces as a strategy for thestrengthening of the environment from the visual to the working conditions.Through environmental education, the instructors, apprentices and officials of theheadquarters learn to link their functions with the conservation and protection of theenvironment.Important benefits: improvement in outdoor air quality, improvement in aesthetics, increasebiodiversity and promote urban agriculture |
