description Our project aims to implement a system for monitoring abiotic conditions of medicinal plant crops through sensors, the start of the project is given in the cultivation of yellow turmeric established in the Simon Bolivar Educational Institution, located in the inspection La Palmera municipality of San Carlos de Guaroa - Meta, with the purpose of encouraging students from rural areas of the department to use technological tools in order to maximize the development and production of controlled plants and to verify the advantages of this process in comparison with others that are not monitored and their exposure to environmental conditions that can be adverse and generate delays in growth and production is not controlled. The conditions monitored are relative humidity, UV radiation, soil humidity, which must be constant, and ambient temperature in degrees Celsius. The project was established in the first months of 2022 and data is taken several times a week and between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., hours of the day when ambient temperature and UV radiation values can increase, to determine whether mitigation actions should be implemented, such as placing poly-shade to benefit growth and production. To date, it has been shown that the growth and coloration of the plants that are controlled is better than a group of comparison plants that are not subjected to any mitigation action, this has been demonstrating that controlling the abiotic conditions of the crop has benefits in the growth and subsequent production.
