description The current challenges in the construction industry, in relation to environmental impacts, imply an efficient management of resources with sustainability strategies, incorporating energy efficiency. With the BIM methodology and the digital models of buildings, it has been possible to plan the resources used in the projects and articulate the integration between the professionals involved. With informatics advances, it has been possible to incorporate energy efficiency with BIM software in order to quantify the impact of energy efficiency strategies before construction. The results of the application of this type of strategies with different projects around the world are evidenced. In this projects, strategies are applied to change equipment for more efficient ones and the implementation of bioclimatic strategies, taking advantage of climatic conditions outside to achieve adequate hygrothermal conditions inside, to reduce the energy investment necessary for this purpose. This document presents an overview of the evolution of this type of strategies, from the BIM methodology, its impact on construction with built case studies highlighting the importance of bioclimatic strategies in the energy efficiency of a project. The literature review concludes the importance of energy efficiency analysis in construction projects and the fields of study that are still pending development.
