| Summary: | The great boom that the BIM methodology is having in the construction sector is known, helping this area to enter its digitization. It is also noted, in parallel, how Geographic Information Systems (SIG) help to digitize the geography of some region. The question that arises is how these two tools complement each other so that together they come together in a synergy for the benefit of the community. This document details how BIM and SIG are integrated, and the contribution they make in many areas, among which are; study of city floods, monitoring of dam construction, digitalization of hydraulic networks, monitoring of municipal waste, among others. At the end, some conclusions are given about how positive this BIM-SIG synergy has been. |
