| description | The El Salado massacre was a crime against humanity perpetrated by the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) between February 16 and 21, 2000 in the village of El Salado, municipality of Carmen de Bolivar, in the department of Bolivar, Colombia. A sample of 10 years (2010-2020) was made and a comparative analysis was carried out in digital newspaper libraries. The different narratives used in each news event were identified, in addition to the coverage given to the event by the two newspapers mentioned. Three aspects were analyzed in the selected articles: Memory, Oblivion and Remembrance. The following items are subdivided from them: State, Victims and Victimizers as a historical construct of a violent environment. The result is that the massacre of El Salado left a deep impact on the community of El Salado and that the media studied have not given sufficient coverage to the facts at present. |
