| description | Within the health area, various complications occur. In this article, the neonatology service is taken as the study scenario, where neonates and newborns present a series of complications that require specialized care by health professionals. The objective or intention is to analyze the quality of nursing care applied to newborns with meconium aspiration syndrome, confined in the neonatology area of the San Vicente de Paul hospital in the city of Ibarra. This research is taken due to the complication that this syndrome has that threatens the life of those who suffer from it, within the methodology a descriptive work was carried out with a deductive method under a mixed approach. As material, the interview was used with three (3)doctors with a specialty in neonatology who works in said service, to which the instrument was applied, which was an interview script with open questions. On the other hand, a survey was carried out with ten (10) mothers of patients with SAM. To analyze the results, triangulation of responses obtained during the interview and statistical analysis for the surveys carried out were used. As a result, it is obtained that nursing care is essential for the recovery of neonates and newborns who suffer from meconium aspiration syndrome and that family members are satisfied with the nursing staff but not with the obstetricians who work in the obstetric area. due to lack of skills. It is concluded that a large part of this problem is due to the lack of control in pregnancy, lack of guidance regarding warning signs and traditional birth care in homes attended by midwives and not by specialized professionals. In obstetric and neonatology issues. |
