Abstract: This paper provides infinite-series expressions for both second-order performance measures, level crossing rate, and average fade duration of dual macro-diversity system employing signal processing from unbalanced base stations (BSs). The main characteristic of those expressions is their rapid convergence. Selection combining algorithm is applied at both micro and macro levels. The general case that assumes different shadowing severities and average powers of the desired signal and co-channel interference (CCI) on BS's branches is explored. The performance degradation due to shadowing and CCI is illustrated and discussed in detail. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
