| Abstract: |
Summary: The article deals with a diploid taxon of the Ornithogalum umbellatum-group, which in the past has been confused with O. tenuifolium, O. gussonii, O. orthophyllum and O. kochii in Central Europe. Reliable occurrences of this bulbous geophyte are known from the Elbe valley between Bohemia (Czech Republic) and North Germany. A detailed description of karyological, morphological and ecological characters of that critical taxon is given. The relevant literature about the O. umbellatum-group is reviewed.
