Abstract: The article presents an interview with middle- and high-school English teacher Isaac Blum who had written a young adult book, "The Life and Crimes of Hoodie Rosen." He discusses his views on the inclusion of popular culture in an English curriculum and the place for popular literature in the school canon. He shares his thoughts on his expectations of non-Jewish teenagers' reactions to the story.
