Abstract (English): The present study analyzes gender stereotypes in 3 and 4-year-old boys and girls in Early Childhood Education, focusing on the relationship between the family context and the development of play. A study was conducted with 16 participants, using a mixed methodology (quantitative and qualitative) and four data collection instruments. The results show the reproduction of gender stereotypes in children's play, indicating that schools still have work to do in promoting gender equality. Coeducation is presented as a solution to eliminate gender stereotypes and roles and achieve a more egalitarian society. [Extracted from the article]
