The article describes the incorporation of Patricia Ducoing Watty into the Mexican Council of Educational Research (COMIE) in 1993 and the creation of the Mexican Journal of Educational Research (RMIE) in 1996. COMIE is dedicated to promoting and disseminating knowledge related to education, while RMIE has established itself as a widely consulted and valued scientific publication in the educational field. The Editorial Committee of the journal is made up of recognized academics from various institutions and disciplines, with different political, ideological, theoretical, and methodological positions. During the period from 2002 to 2004, the Committee was composed of Mexican and foreign researchers, which allowed for a careful review of the materials received to guarantee academic quality. El artículo describe la incorporación de Patricia Ducoing Watty al Consejo Mexicano de Investigación Educativa (COMIE) en 1993 y la creación de la Revista Mexicana de Investigación Educativa (RMIE) en 1996. El COMIE se dedica a promover y difundir conocimientos relacionados con la educación, mientras que la RMIE se ha consolidado como una publicación científica ampliamente consultada y valorada en el campo educativo. El Comité Editorial de la revista está conformado por académicos reconocidos de diversas instituciones y disciplinas, con diferentes posicionamientos políticos, ideológicos, teóricos y metodológicos. Durante el periodo de 2002 a 2004, el Comité estuvo conformado por investigadores mexicanos y extranjeros, lo que permitió una revisión cuidadosa de los materiales recibidos para garantizar la calidad académica.
