Abstract: The author explores the use of counter advertising and education in fostering critical thinking in primary school students. Topics discussed include the fundamental aim of advertising, the concept of counteradvertising, visual codes used in counter advertising, examples of the use of art disciplines in exploring counter advertising, and the use of counter advertising by students to convey messages on social and environmental issues.
