Abstract: The article presents results of a study from Australia which determined how students feel about teacher expectations and its impact on student outcomes. It outlines how teachers convey high expectations to students, that include teachers framing learning as challenging, yet achievable, encouraging students by celebrating their progress, praising students' efforts, and encouraging self-efficacy in students by helping them connect success with their own efforts.
