Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the degree to which faculty members at Jordanian universities employ applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in education and scientific research. By adopting a descriptive survey approach, we developed a questionnaire consisting of 39 items covering three dimensions: planning and teaching, evaluation, and scientific research. The questionnaire was distributed to a sample of 154 faculty members at universities in Jordan who were selected using the convenient sampling method. The study results showed that the degree to which faculty members at Jordanian universities employ AI applications in education and scientific research was moderate. In addition, the results showed no statistically significant differences in the faculty members’ estimates of the degree of employing AI applications attributed to the variables of gender, university, college, and program level. Further, we offer a set of recommendations, namely, holding seminars and workshops to increase the importance of employing AI applications in the education process and scientific research by faculty members, and, moreover, creating a clear educational guide for employing AI technology in education and scientific research in a way that ensures the ethics of its use.
