Abstract:	The article examines the limitations of English-only subject access in North American library catalogs and argues for the inclusion of non-English, script-based subject headings to improve discovery of foreign-language materials. Topics include the shortcomings of Library of Congress Subject Headings in representing non-Roman scripts, the benefits of adding native-language subject headings—particularly for Arabic materials—and the use of linked data to enhance multilingual subject access.
