The study aims to explore the characteristics of tutors and guidance counselors for 3rd and 4th grade of compulsory Secondary Education based on their attitudes and level of knowledge about guidance, and the criteria they use for academic and career advising. A quantitative, descriptive and correlational approach was adopted, using an ad hoc questionnaire directed at teachers (N=697) from Andalusia, Asturias, Catalonia, and Madrid. The main results show that guidance actions are determined to a greater extent by attitudes towards the counselling function rather than by the teaching role. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |

El objetivo del estudio es explorar cómo se caracteriza el profesorado tutor y orientador de 3° y 4° de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria que desarrolla acción orientadora; según actitud y grado de conocimiento hacia la misma, y los criterios que utiliza para el asesoramiento académico y profesional. Se plantea un enfoque cuantitativo, de carácter descriptivo y correlacional, empleando un cuestionario ad hoc dirigido al profesorado (N= 697) de Andalucía, Asturias, Cataluña y Madrid. Los principales resultados apuntan que las acciones de asesoramiento están determinadas en mayor medida por las actitudes hacia la función orientadora que por el rol docente. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
