The article addresses the role of social work in daycare centers as a response to the challenges of balancing work and family life, as well as the prevention dilemma in family education. Family education is described as an important element of preventive social policy that supports parents and children, but often encounters limitations, particularly with families that have a higher need for support. The development of daycare centers into child and family centers is highlighted as a way to create low-threshold access and promote the integration of family education into everyday life. The article analyzes the conditions and obstacles for the successful implementation of family education programs in daycare centers, based on evaluations of programs in Bremen. Der Artikel behandelt die Rolle der Kita-Sozialarbeit als Antwort auf die Herausforderungen der Vereinbarkeit von Beruf und Familie sowie das Präventionsdilemma in der Familienbildung. Familienbildung wird als wichtiges Element präventiver Sozialpolitik beschrieben, das Eltern und Kinder unterstützt, jedoch oft an Grenzen stößt, insbesondere bei Familien mit erhöhtem Unterstützungsbedarf. Die Entwicklung von Kindertagesstätten zu Kinder- und Familienzentren wird als Möglichkeit hervorgehoben, um niedrigschwellige Zugänge zu schaffen und die Integration von Familienbildung in den Alltag zu fördern. Der Artikel analysiert die Bedingungen und Hürden für eine erfolgreiche Implementierung von Familienbildungsangeboten in Kitas, basierend auf Evaluationen von Programmen in Bremen.
