Abstract (English): The purpose of this article is to analyze the integration of nursing graduates into the labor market in three municipal districts of the Mexico City metropolitan area. To this end, 12 interviews were conducted with nursing graduate students from different types of higher education institutions (two public and one private) with varying socioeconomic contexts in terms of their degree of marginalization, educational options, and labor market conditions. The results show that, despite the differences in the geographical and social contexts in which the graduates began their working lives, there are similarities: early and irregular integration into the labor market, with precarious conditions, varying assessments of jobs, and different pathways to employment, in which the higher education institutions they were trained at play a critical role.
