Abstract: The article presents a review and synthesis of studies on the effectiveness of supervisors in improving teaching and provides suggestions on staffing practices. Studies showed that consultant services such as assistance in analyzing instructional problems contribute to effective teaching. Significant changes were also observed in the teachers working with university-based science consultants, who give clinical supervision for individual teacher and feedback seminars. Likewise, a study found out that significant changes were noted on the teachers when supervisors conducted consultations than simple presentations.
