Abstract: The article reflects on the avoidance of the concept of death in children's elementary education. The young children's willingness to explore the meaning of death and the adults' difficulty to discuss death with children are offered. The inclusion of the concept of death in the elementary school curriculum is proposed by the author. The ways in which a child can learn what it means to die include interacting with environment and the teachings in elementary school curriculums. Books about death are offered.
