Abstract: Chapter 15 of the book "Transforming Undergraduate Science Teaching: Social Constructivist Perspectives," edited by Peter C. Taylor, Penny J. Gilmer and Kenneth Tobin is presented. It explains how the teaching profession can shape character and conduct of students. Because professors are allegedly not used to restraints, the author proposes teachers to be conscientious professionals by being committed to spiritual values. It also presents an account of the spiritual values of faith, hope and love the author integrates in her mathematics courses.
