| Abstract: |
This article examines how educational reform in Japan has been inspired by the Finnish education system. It is noted that Finland was recognized internationally in 2003 by the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) for its educational accomplishments. Japan, formerly respected for its academic successes, began to see a decline in academic achievement during the late 1990s. An important aspect of the Finnish education system is stated to be teaching methods that focus on student creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills. |
