| Abstract: |
In this article the author considers the intellectual development of Richard Rorty, an American philosopher, and Andrew Ross, a professor and cultural critic. At issue is criticism of Ross voiced by Rorty in which he stated that Ross celebrated popular culture indiscriminately at the cost of an interest in electoral politics. A number of topics are addressed including Rorty's books "The Linguistic Turn: Recent Essays is Philosophical Method," and "Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature," and the work of Ross in the area of organized labor and the anti-sweatshop movement. |
