| Abstract: | The article discusses the use of social media sites for fundraising campaigns. Colleen Dilenschneider, one of the social media experts, states that an organization with own website has a significant channel for fundraising since it serves as a bridge to engage audiences and encourage potential donors. Dilenschneider adds that websites, which include Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr, can alter website visitors into a donor through other ways like microblogging, pictures, and videos. Another social media expert, Joe Murphy, cites the rise of the new location-based technology, such as Foursquare, which can also be effective for fundraising requests. Murphy and Dilenschneider are both positive about this kind of public fundraising. |
