| Abstract: | The article focuses on review of teacher education programs in the U.S. It says that these programs are being examined through the approval and accreditation process, but it has been claimed that the certification is neither adequately rigorous nor public and transparent enough. It mentions that the National Council for Teacher Quality (NCTQ) has collaborated with "U.S. News and World Report" to evaluate 1,000 teacher education programs and is planning to conduct a study of these programs and assign letter grades of A through F to each. |
