Abstract: The article focuses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in the U.S. It states that STEM education has become the biggest reform movement in PK-12 education. It says that STEM education is being promoted by politicians while STEM initiatives is being promoted and funded by the state and federal agencies. It adds that the lacking national assessments of PK-12 students has driven the rationale for increased emphasis in STEM education.
