Abstract: This paper discusses six different models of organizational structure and leadership, including the scalar chain or pyramid model, the continuum model, the grid model, the linking pin model, the contingency model, and the circle or democratic model. Each model is examined in a separate section that describes the model and its development, lists some proponents of the model, suggests when the model may be most effectively used, and discusses the model's relative strengths and weaknesses.
