Abstract: The cards in this file are representative samples of the types of activities developed by teachers involved in a Title I funded learning center of multi-cultural classroom activities for elementary school students. The five cultures that are stuoied are those of blacks, Asian Americans, native Americans, Mexican Americans, and Anglos. A multi-media approach is used in the classroom, and the activities described on these cards are part of a program which includes films, filmstrips, tapes, field trips, etc. Activities are divided into five areas: reading and language arts, cooking, arts and crafts, math, and music and dance. Listed under these five areas are thirty-eight activities, some of which include puzzles, types of poetry, how to make groundnut soup, early American recipes, food for the pioneers, African beads, Indian pottery, Japanese carp kits, Oriental block prints, counting triangles, the limbo dance, the Mexican national folk dance, the China poblana costume, and others.
