| Abstract: | This report details findings from the qualitative strand of the Working Lives of Teachers and Leaders survey (WLTL), conducted by IFF Research and IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE). As part of the Year 3 wave of the WLTL survey, this research took place in autumn 2024 and focused on teacher and leader experiences and opinions related to their workload. Fieldwork involved a total of 100 depth interviews, conducted by IFF and IOE researchers. The focus was on teachers and leaders currently working in the profession on a full-time basis and reporting average or higher than average working hours in the Year 3 wave of the WLTL survey. This was to ensure that any associated concerns around workload could be explored in sufficient depth. |
