Abstract: This memorandum provides information pertinent to the participation and performance of Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations for 2024 graduates in Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). In 2024, 61.8% of MCPS graduates took one or more AP exams, 18.4% more than graduates in Maryland and 26.1% more than graduates in the nation. Additionally, 46.5% of 2024 MCPS graduates earned a score of 3 or higher on at least one AP exam, while 27.8% of graduates in the State of Maryland and 22.6% of graduates in the nation earned an AP score of 3 or higher.
